We have never been very good at picking just one hobby.
Harpoon Hobby is our shared workbench for gaming, building, collecting, creating, cooking, traveling, and following whatever new rabbit hole captures our attention. It is also a gathering place for anyone who believes they shouldn’t have to squeeze everything they enjoy into one neat little category.
Around here, you’ll know us as britinpixels and skelet0rftw. We’re a married pair of gamers, makers, collectors, enthusiastic beginners, and occasional buyers of projects we are absolutely certain we have room for.
Sometimes we know exactly what we’re doing.
Sometimes we learn as we go.
Sometimes the instructions make no sense, the paint comes out uneven, the recipe refuses to cooperate, or the Overwatch match goes so badly that the best thing we can do is laugh about it.

Meet the People Behind the Workbench
britinpixels is most at home with baking, writing, coloring, cozy video games, creative projects, and anything that ends with the satisfaction of being able to say, “I made that.” She loves the finished product, but she is also learning to appreciate the imperfect and occasionally chaotic process required to get there.
skelet0rftw is the person most likely to disappear into electronics, RC cars, music, DJing, technology, and figuring out how things work. If something can be built, repaired, modified, wired, programmed, or taken apart in the name of understanding it, he will probably be interested.
Together, we play video games, build LEGO sets and models, collect trading cards and figures, draw, paint, try board games, explore new places, visit hobby shops, cook, eat, travel, and encourage each other to investigate interests that neither of us knows anything about yet.
We don’t approach every hobby with the same experience or skill. Sometimes one of us leads while the other learns. Sometimes we are both complete beginners trying to make sense of things together.
That is part of the fun.
Follow the Rabbit Hole
We created Harpoon Hobby because curiosity rarely stays inside one category.
A video game can lead to an interest in storytelling, art, history, technology, music, or collecting. Building a model can teach us about engineering and design. A new recipe can introduce us to another culture or inspire a future trip. Visiting a new city can lead us to an independent hobby store, an unfamiliar game, a local maker, or an experience we never expected to find.
One interest leads to another, and then another.
The rabbit hole is the point.
We don’t believe people need to choose between being a gamer, builder, baker, collector, traveler, artist, or technology enthusiast. We can be several of those things at once. We can also change our minds, try something new, be terrible at it, and still have a good time.
Harpoon Hobby gives all those interests somewhere to coexist.
What You’ll Find Here
Our workbench is always changing, but you can expect to find:

- Behind-the-scenes updates as we work toward creating our own products and business
We will share the projects that go well, the ones that don’t, and the ones that sit unfinished for far longer than we planned.
We aren’t here to pretend we have mastered every hobby we try. We’re here to learn, experiment, improve, and share what actually happens along the way.
Packed & Stuffed
Food and travel have their own home within Harpoon Hobby through Packed & Stuffed.
Cooking and baking are hobbies in their own right, but food and travel also connect naturally to everything else we do. We travel to discover new restaurants, recipes, cultures, attractions, hobby shops, collectibles, creators, and communities. Even a quick restaurant visit can inspire something we want to cook, research, or experience for ourselves.
Food sustains us between the playing, building, collecting, and creating.
Travel gives us more rabbit holes to follow.
You Don’t Have to Be an Expert
Harpoon Hobby is for experienced builders and people opening their first kits. It is for serious collectors, casual players, lifelong creators, curious spectators, and people who haven’t found their hobby yet.
You don’t need the most expensive equipment. You don’t need a perfectly organized hobby room. You don’t have to know all the terminology, produce flawless work, or prove that you are serious enough to participate.
You also don’t have to turn everything you enjoy into a business or make one interest your entire personality.
If something makes you curious, helps you connect with another person, gives you a sense of accomplishment, or simply makes the mundane parts of life feel a little more worthwhile, it matters.
That is enough to belong here.
Where the Harpoon Came From
The name began long before this website existed.
Before we were married, we spent many nights playing Fortnite with a friend. Whenever we found a harpoon gun, completing the actual objective became much less important than discovering how much chaos we could create with it.
The harpoon became an inside joke, and we eventually named our Discord server Harpoon Labs—a very official-sounding name for a place where almost no official business occurred.
As our ideas grew, Harpoon Labs became Harpoon Hobby. The new name reflected the larger vision taking shape: a place where we could share our interests, create our own products, build a genuine community, and eventually open a hobby store where people could discover something new and meet others who shared their excitement.
What began as a joke between friends became the name of the future we want to build.

More Than a Website
Our long-term goal is bigger than publishing articles or posting projects online.
We want Harpoon Hobby to become a true community where people exchange ideas, share knowledge, ask questions, recommend new interests, and help one another through the frustrating parts of learning something unfamiliar.
Eventually, we hope to design and sell products of our own. Our biggest dream is to open a physical hobby store: a place where people can shop, learn, play, create, compete, and find others who understand their particular corner of the hobby world.
That dream will take time. We are still learning how to finish projects consistently, make space for our interests, build a business, and stop waiting until everything feels perfect before allowing ourselves to begin.
Instead of hiding that process and appearing once everything is polished, we’re inviting you to be here while we build it.
